A father of the fatherless and a judge and protector of the widows,
Is God in His holy habitation.
God makes a home for the lonely;
He leads the prisoners into prosperity,
Only the stubborn and rebellious dwell in a parched land.
– Psalm 68:5, AMP
Happy Father’s Day to all the real Fathers out there. Those who have been there for their babies through it all. Those who have prayed the blessings of God unto their babies. Those who have above all, loved their babies like Christ loves His children.
A father in basic terms is supposed to be an embodiment of God here on earth for his children. Not to say they replace God in the lives of their kids, but they give them a glimpse of God’s nature here on earth.
I’ve grown to belief that the best father you may have isn’t necessarily your biological father. I have also come to believe that not every “sperm donor” is a father. A father is supposed to be a gift to his children. A father is supposed to be their provider. Their leader. Their support. A father in basic terms is supposed to be an embodiment of God here on earth for his children. Not to say they replace God in the lives of their kids, but they give them a glimpse of God’s nature here on earth.
This post, I think is just a reminder to all out there…
To those with fathers in their lives…honor them.
To those without earthly fathers…turn to God, He wants to Father you.
To those who were betrayed by their fathers…put your trust in God, He wants to heal those cracks.
To those who were abandoned by their fathers…God’s arms are wide-opened for you.
To those who never had a father figure to look up to…it’s not too late, God is waiting for you.
To the potential fathers out there…Get your lessons from the best Father there is out there.
I do not have all the answers to why you may not have a father or why he isn’t the best.
I do not know why you lost him along the way.
I’m blank on why he didn’t see you cross life’s greatest hurdles.
I’ve got no idea why he didn’t see you achieve your dreams.
I do not know why he didn’t walk you down the aisle.
I do not know why.
What I do know is that even without your earthly father, you can have a Father. You do not have to remain Fatherless.
All you’ve got to do is to believe and receive Jesus into your life. To open your heart to Him and to allow Him show you His love. Allow Him to Father you. Allow Him to walk with you and show you who a Father is.
To all the real fathers out there: Lord, thank You for their lives and for showing them how to be a father to the children you’ve gifted them with. Father, bless them, lead them and guide them in all they do. Draw them closer to Your side daily and let Your love reign in their hearts. Let them never depart from You and let them continue being a representation of you here on earth. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
To all those without fathers: Lord, thank You for their lives. Father, You said You’ll be a Father to the fatherless. I ask that today, You draw Your children closer to Your side and show them who a Father is. Love them like they need, lead them, direct them, and provide for them. Open their hearts to receive the love that You have available to them. Father, father these fatherless ones. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
To all the potential fathers: Father, thank You for their lives. I ask that, Lord as they draw near to fatherhood, You be a teacher to them and show them how to father the children they will be gifted with. Show them Your love so they can show their children that same love. I ask that they will be the best fathers there are in the world. Let Your Grace be abundant in their lives, so they will be able to overcome all hardships and hurdles that come along with fatherhood. I ask that You give them the strength so they never give up no matter how hard it gets. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
To all the fathers who were unable to represent God in the lives of their children: Father, thank You for their lives. Father, I ask that You forgive them of their sins and for not being there as they ought to be for their children. Father, it’s never too late with You, so I ask that you reveal Your love to them and show them what real fatherhood is. Give them Your Grace and strength to confront their children and show them this love. Open their hearts to receive Your love and give them a chance to be fathers again. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
